SINGER Jacqui Dankworth (right) will be bringing her distinctive vocals to Worcester next week when she plays a concert at the city's Huntingdon Hall.

The musician grew up on tour with her parents John Dankworth and Dame Cleo Laine and she has imposed her breathtaking personal style on her rich heritage, with a voice that brings her lyrics to life, bending notes and caressing words.

Her latest album Detour Ahead is a mix of new and old tunes and showcases her relationship with jazz standards and moody blues numbers.

And she is expected to air some of her latest tracks when she performs at Huntingdon Hall on Friday, January 21.

The concert comes before an evening of music by her parents at the venue on Friday, May 6.

The couple will be joined by John Horler on piano, Alec Dankworth on double bass, Allan Ganley on drums and Mark Nightingale on trombone.

Tickets for Jacqui's concert are priced £12 (concessions £11) while admission for the latter event is £22.50.

Tickets can be bought by calling the box office on 01905 611427.
