THANK you to Karen Morris (Letters, August 10). I have been trying to raise concern about lanes in and around Callow Hill, Elcocks Brook, Ham Green and Feckenham for some time now.
Although not so high profile as Astwood Bank, our problems are just as dangerous and pressing.
There is an open speed limit on Green Lane, Callow Hill Lane, Sillins Lane, Brookhouse Lane and Swansbrook Lane.
This is despite there being a residential home for the elderly, a park, a golf club, livery yards, farms and a country pub directly off.
Also, there are no footways, poor or no lighting, blind bends, crossroads, a recognised cycle route, bridleways and public footpath access routes.
Despite writing to local and county councillors, apparently nothing can be done. This doesn't appear to be the case in Bromsgrove district however, eg. Weatheroak.
Ditchford Bank, Sillins lane and Callow Hill Lane are a rat run for commuters to Redditch from Droitwich.
I don't think the police or councillors appreciate the volume of traffic or speeds on these lanes.
If you value the countryside and access to it in safety on foot, cycle or horse, then please, I urge you, join with me and lobby your councillor on this worsening problem and let's get some traffic calming in place.
