VILLAGERS in Studley had a "wheelie" good time during a charity event on Sunday .

Scores of residents turned out for the annual wheelbarrow race, which saw pub teams don fancy dress and dash between the 11 village boozers, guzzling a half pint in each.

Overall winners were The Oak men's team which completed the course in 27 minutes and 32 seconds, while the top women's team was from The Needle, clocking in at 40 minutes 58 seconds.

All proceeds will go to St John Ambulance and Warwickshire's Air Ambulance.

The Bell's landlord, Bob Wall, who helped organise the event said: "Everyone had such a good day. We don't know how much we raised, but I want to thank those who supported us."
