BROMSGROVE Golf Club's Richard Yip won the regional final of the Queen Mother Cup to book his place in the finals in Portugal.

Yip won the regional decider, which was held at Celtic Manor Golf, with a stableford score of 34.

He will now move onto to the grand final at the Le Meridien Penina course in November, when Yip will compete against nine other regional winners.

Bromsgrove's juniors bagged a draw away at Robin Hood GC to extend their unbeaten run to four matches.

An inexperienced team, missing several of the club's more experienced youth players, played well.

Dan Bradshaw and Dan Delve won 2-1, while James Wheeler and Jim Deeny lost 5-4.

Dan Raine and Gavin Forbes were 2-1 winners, while Henry Lydiatt and Chris Berrisford were beaten 3-1.

Bromsgrove ended Abbey Park's unbeaten run in the Worcestershire Handicap League with a 4-2 victory.

Ian Greaves and Barrie Claridge led the way with an outstanding 7-6 win.

Pairings Neil Batson and Derek Mace, Andy Diston and Jim Hellier and Ian Sallows and Dave Thompson were also winners for Bromsgrove.

Neil Wycherley and Clive Richards lost by one point and Pete Fox and Nick Bott were also narrowly beaten.

In the latest round of the Junior League James Wheeler won League A, while Harrison Mace was victorious in League B.
