Bromsgrove police station will open its doors to law-abiding residents so they can take a closer look at how modern crime fighting is carried out.
The open day is this Sunday and visitors will be able to view a range of police vehicles, including the CCTV van, motorbikes, the public order van, armed response vehicles and a helicopter.
The public will also be able have their fingerprints and photographs taken and look around the cells and custody block in the 100-year-old plus station in The Crescent.
Youngsters will also get a chance to play detective with a mock crime scene and pick out the 'offender' in a video ID parade, see the role performed by the Specials and take home a goodie bag.
The town's fire brigade will also be on hand giving demonstrations.
Acting chief inspector Dave Shaw said: "The open day will give us a great opportunity to engage with the community. We hope it will be a fun day out for everyone."
The day runs from 11am to 3pm. As parking is very limited, it is advisable to park in town and walk the short distance to the Crescent.
