FORTY-six walkers joined the coach at Sanders Park for an outing to Worcester.
Almost 30 of us left the coach at Hawford and walked to join the River Severn just above Bevere Lock and weir. We followed the River Severn downstream to Worcester in beautiful surroundings.
We discovered an environmental centre in the old water pumping buildings and followed the edge of the racecourse into Worcester where we had a picnic lunch near to the fountains on South Quay.
The remainder of the group was dropped off the coach near Diglis Basin and walked back up the River Severn into Worcester for their lunch.
Thanks to Bromsgrove Council for supplying the coach and our walk leaders for organising the day.
Walks take place every Monday and Friday at 10am. On Mondays we meet at Sanders Park pavilion, there are generally two walks of one to three miles, in and out of the park, on pavement and no stiles.
On Fridays we meet on the car park at Sanders Park and drive out into the local countryside for a three to four mile walk over fields, canal towpaths and wooded areas with stiles and sometimes muddy areas to negotiate.
More details about the group are available from the pavilion in the park.
