I SEE that John Lloyd has again written that the ratepayers do not want the new Waitrose store.

He bases this comment on the result of a Parish Poll in which a very small minority of voters took part. Has he been to the new store? Does he prefer to shop at Safeways/Morrisons or Kwiksave?

I don't mind where he shops but clearly a lot of folk enjoy the atmosphere and shopping experience of the new store so why does he keep saying we do not want it?

However, I do agree with his feelings about the lido. Councillor Pam Davey may have got the Brine Bath owners to entertain 48 youngsters but it would be better if she, and Wychavon District Council, were to get the lido open again.

There may not be as much salt in the lido water as the brine baths but at least it would be open to all youngsters and they would be able to swim in the water which they won't be able to at the brine baths.

I don't know why Wychavon has decided not to collect garden waste. I always thought it gave a first class service in this respect. However, I do not think its change of policy is cause for people to dump their rubbish where they will.

If they have the means to dump garden waste in the local hedgerows and elsewhere, why can they not take it to the tip?

What excuse is there for spoiling the environment? How does Droitwich Spa benefit from this negative attitude?
