A FILM crew recently descended on Studley to film an episode of ITV's Heart of the Country.

It was lights, camera, action last weekend as the crew spent from 7am in the village, filming a day in the life of Revs Richard and Margaret Deimel from Studley Parish Church.

They were also fortunate to choose a day when 15-year-old Alex Hewitt from Redditch had chosen to be baptised in the River Arrow, surrounded by church members, family and friends.

Rev Deimel said: "Some people think Studley is just one long, not very pretty road but that's simply not true. There are many delightful areas of historic interest and Heart of the Country wanted to put this across. When the researcher called me they suggested they could film a separate item on my wife and myself as members of clergy in the village.

"They filmed us from first thing in the morning when we were having breakfast, Alex's baptism at the river and all the church services we held in Studley and Mappleborough Green through the day. It was slightly daunting having a film camera in your face over breakfast but we hope it will be a really interesting piece."

The Studley episode of Heart of the Country is due to be aired in autumn.
