I WOULD like to point out that not all the nearby residents of the Hop Pole object to music being played there.

I live within 50 metres of the pub and have not experienced any noisy revellers at all since it re opened its doors to live music.

What this town needs is a soul and what better to put heart back into Bromsgrove by getting local bands showcased than local venues.

Most of the acts do not charge the venue for this but do it for the love of performing and having their music played.

Support your local venues or you will lose them.

There is more noise from 'boy racers' who frequent our car parks and built-up areas with speed and handbrake turns (which I witnessed last week in front of the new Halfords store in Birmingham Road) than any 'rowdy revellers' coming out of the pubs.

I urge all music lovers whatever your taste to support the Hop Pole and write to the district council with your views and get the ban lifted.
