EVESHAM United continue to adapt to the Southern League Premier Division after last night's 1-0 home defeat to Team Bath.

The Robins, beaten 3-0 at Tiverton on Saturday, created little in the way of chances in a scrappy display at Common Road.

Goalkeeper Tim Clarke was stuck in traffic for the second game in a row so 18-year-old Darren Knurek again deputised.

But Knurek was beaten only once on 40 minutes when a throw-in was flicked into the danger area and Joe Long lashed the ball home at the far post.

The Evesham teenager did save well from Tomas Jankovic in the first-half, while Dave Busst's side lost Jermaine Clarke to a thigh injury.

Richard Robinson nodded a Matthew Hall cross off target in the second period. Wide midfielder Hall then volleyed over close to the end.

EVESHAM: Knurek, Watson, O'Sullivan, Knight, Cooper, Robinson, Hall, Blake, J Clarke (Ball 30), Martin (Bailey 79), Pinkney (O'Toole 69). Subs not used: Hamilton, T Clarke. ATTENDANCE: 223.

Meanwhile, Stourport Swifts were struck by a last-minute deflected equaliser from Willenhall Town's Paul Danks in a 2-2 home Division One West draw.

Though Swifts fell behind to Dean Perrow's glanced effort, impressive centre-half Andy Jones quickly equalised on 29 minutes after a corner.

Danny Mason put Swifts ahead with a low free-kick just after half-time as they coped well without key midfielders John Shirley (suspension), Ronnie Sayer (holiday) and Craig Webb (work) until Danks swooped.

SWIFTS: Ladek, M Jones, Green, A Jones, Manton, Bragoli, Volosanovs, Childs, Burgess (Atkinson 75), Willetts, Mason. Subs not used: Titterton, Coley, Fullwood. ATTENDANCE: 123.
