TODAY there will be a host of events to keep the whole family entertained as part of the Worcester Festival.

Kings of cockney rock and roll, Chas and Dave will bring their witty songs about life in London to an audience at Huntingdon Hall.

The pair's debut album, One Fing 'n' Anuvver, released in 1975, earned the critical acclaim of the likes of the late John Peel.

A spokeswoman for the festival said: "This self-produced album, with it's proudly cockney vocals and exuberant good humour blended with their love for genuine rock and roll led them to title their 1978 EMI album Rockney.

"This century sees them reaching younger audiences with new bands such as The Libertines asking them to support them on tour."

Dave summed him and his partner up when he said: "We're like pie and mash, simple and very London."

The pair, best known for the singles Rabbit, Snooker Loopy and Ain't No Pleasing You will perform at 8pm.

Another highlight of today's line up is the Worcester Festival Race Day, an afternoon of exciting National Hunt Racing.

There will be free admission for children, with special adult prices in the centre of the course.

There will also be a bouncy castle and face painting at the event, at Worcester Racecourse from about 1.40pm onwards.

A festival spokeswoman added: "This promises to be a great day out for the family."

At 8pm, an audience at the Greyfriars, in Friar Street will be transported to an island of magic for the Melting Pot Theatre's production of Shakespeare's Tempest.
