FANS of cult television show, Big Brother, are to be given the chance to buy a suit worn by their favourite housemate and boost Operation Covert at the same time.

Ten suits worn by contestants on this year's reality show to carry out tasks such as sorting maggots into bowls are to be auctioned off on eBay.

Kidderminster-based company, Careerwear, which made the suits, will give the cash raised to the Shuttle/Times and News appeal to rebuild the Rhydd Covert Scout Centre and Kemp Hospice.

Simon Clark, who owns the business, explained each suit was numbered and would be itemised according to which housemate had worn it.

None of them have been washed since they were worn on television and will be on sale on the website for a period of 10 days.

It is not yet known exactly when they will go up for auction but it is expected to be some time next week.

"As a small local company, we were privileged to be asked to provide these for a national television company and it's been a talking point and a lot of fun," Mr Clark said.

"I've got no idea how much they'll fetch but I think they'll be popular - there are a lot of people that collect memorabilia associated with television."

He said buyers could also be supplied with pictures of the suits being worn by housemates.

"Kemp Hospice relies on charitable donations and we all probably know someone who has used a hospice at some stage in their lives, and Operation Covert is also a good cause," he said.

Anyone wishing to bid for the suits should go to www.ebay.com
