Airport picket

DAMP but determined pickets were back outside embattled catering firm Gate Gourmet today after a court injunction limiting their numbers.

The firm, which supplies in-flight meals for British Airways, has obtained an order restricting the number of sacked protesters directly outside its gates to six but lost a bid to limit a larger protest 500 metres away.

Today just four protesters stood at the gates of the company's Heathrow Airport base, as security guards looked on.

Greene King

SCOTLAND'S largest independent regional brewer said it had agreed to a takeover by Greene King in a deal valuing it at £187m.

Belhaven, which brews Belhaven Best and distributes Tennent's and Stella Artois, reached agreement on the deal that will give Greene King "instant scale" in the Scottish market.

Rentokil offer

FORMER Granada boss Sir Gerry Robinson today revealed his interest in tabling a takeover offer for pest control-to-hygiene group Rentokil Initial.

Sir Gerry said he intended to approach the Rentokil board to discuss making a possible offer.

Post for blind

VISUALLY impaired people can send large print materials by post for free from today.

The Royal Mail will scrap charges for those sending and receiving books, papers and letters written in 16 point font or bigger.

It comes 99 years after the company first brought in its UK-wide Articles for the Blind free postal service.
