WORCESTER pilot Mark Parker is the new world junior gliding champion.
Mark Parker, 25, secured the title after the final day's race at Husbands Bosworth in Leicestershire was cancelled.
In a great display of team flying, the British team made a clean sweep of the medals with Jon Meyer taking silver and Andy May bronze in the blue riband standard class.
The two-week contest has been dominated by the British pilots since the start although several competitors could have caught them going into the final race.
But, as everybody waited to see if the weather would clear, the action was eventually cancelled.
