TWO Richard Burgess goals failed to earn Stourport Swifts all three points in Southern League Division One West.

The striker netted twice but saw Bracknell Town hit back for a 2-2 draw at Walshes Meadow.

Burgess punished a weak clearance on 37 minutes and bagged another from Neil Manton's cross five minutes after the interval.

But Bracknell responded with a Scott Taylor penalty on 53 minutes and Neil Selby buried a rebound off the post on the hour mark.

Swifts, watched by a gate of 95, were denied their first victory of the season and tonight head to Paulton Rovers who lost 2-0 at Dunstable Town on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Bromsgrove Rovers slipped to their first defeat as Matt Murphy's diving header on 55 minutes gained Brackley Town a 1-0 home win.

But Rovers missed a penalty as goalkeeper Richard Knight denied Matt Johnson from the spot.

Brackley's Jack King hit the bar from 30 yards with 'keeper Lee Evans beaten.

Rovers had three players, Riad Erraji, Matthew Barnes-Homer and Ross Collins, booked by the referee.

The division's early pace-setters are Marlow who followed up a victory over Stourport by beating Leighton Town and then Sutton Coldfield Town 3-2 at the weekend.

Marlow have the only remaining 100 per cent record.
