DOGS are being put through their paces to prepare for the biggest and most fun-filled date in a Worcestershire animal centre's calendar.
Danemere Animal Rescue Centre is holding a summer spectacular, including a range of dog shows, as well as reptile, rabbit and owl displays, a barbecue, and fairground-style attractions.
There will be judging for happiest dog, the one with the waggiest tail and the canine that looks most like its owner, in addition to more highbrow agility and obedience tests.
There will also be face-painting and a pets corner for the children, craft stalls, refreshments, the chance to win a Jaguar car for the weekend and a display from young firefighters.
"It isn't just a dog show, and you don't need a dog to enjoy the day," said Dave Lannie, kennel supervisor for the centre, based in Plough Road, Tibberton, near Worcester.
The event is being held on Sunday, September 4, and kicks off at 11am.
