A WORCESTER bar flung its doors open to drinkers and revellers again last night following a refurbishment.

Sketchley's Bar, in Weir Lane, off Bromwich Road, Lower Wick, shut temporarily from Tuesday after a problem with one of the drains caused a water leak.

Jenny Tustin took over the venue, which has been a social club for more than 30 years, about three months ago. The bar was back in business last night after workmen had laboured away tirelessly to repair the water damage. Alan Wither was the first act on the stage.

Ms Tustin said: "We could have stayed open but we just thought it'd have been better to close and make sure everything was sound."

The bar holds a karaoke disco on most Fridays and live music at the weekends.
