MORE than 400 children took part in a Teddy Bear's Picnic at a Worcester park and raised £934 for St Richard's Hospice.
The charity's community
fund-raiser, Alison Weston, said the event at Gheluvelt Park, off Barbourne Road, Barbourne, was a great way to have a fun picnic and to raise vital funds.
"Lots of people were looking for something interesting to do during the school summer holidays and this was a perfect event for the whole family to enjoy a local city park.
"The children spent a couple of hours on the fun sidestalls and enjoying the outdoor paddling pool, play areas and gardens."
The picnic took place on Wednesday, August 17. St Richard's campaigners are working to raise the remaining £400,000 needed to build the new, state-of-the-art hospice near County Hall, off Spetchley Road, Worcester.
