A TOURIST hot-spot is taking family fun to new heights with a three-day kite-flying festival.

Croome Landscape Park is encouraging visitors of all ages to fly a kite at the spectacular setting on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, August 24, 25 and 26.

There will be kite kits available to buy and make and members of the Worcester and Alcester Kite Fliers on hand on Thursday to offer advice.

The 18th-Century park, which was the first landscape designed by Capability Brown, is in the final stages of a 10-year restoration.

The work has included the planting of thousands of trees and shrubs and the restoration of the ornamental buildings.

Croome Park is open from 10am to 5.30pm and the festival activities are due to take place between 11am and 4pm. Children under 16 who take their own kite will get free admission.
