THEY say policemen are looking younger these days.
Phil Nuthall, who had his hair shaved his and beard chopped all in the name of charity, admits everybody says it has taken years off him.
The head shave, in aid of the County Air Ambulance, took place at the Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb over the weekend. Mr Nuthall, who is a retired policeman, said the Air Ambulance was a cause close to his heart because of the assistance it gave a former colleague who was involved in a bad traffic accident while on duty.
"As it was the centenary of the Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb, I decided it was time to get it done.
It was quite impromptu," said Mr Nuthall, aged 59, from Clifton on Teme, who still works for West Mercia Police. "I've already raised £560, thanks just to the mechanics, marshals and a few locals, and money is still coming in".
