BROMSGROVE rider Dave Barnes was the highest finished for Wyre Forest in the VTTA 25-mile time trial.

Barnes finished the course, which runs on the A38 to Burton-on-Trent, in 55 minutes and 22 seconds, while Stuart Dangerfield was the event's overall winner (49.07).

Gary Bartam (52.02mins) and Kris Doms (57.35mins) followed Barnes.

Wyre Forest's overall time of two hours and 49.59mins meant the team held off Walsall's stiff challenge to win the event.

The tandem duo of Sue Middup-Jones and Alan Griffiths dramatically improved their best time on the course, shaving off six minutes to finish in one hour and 06.58mins.

The pair go into the Duo Normande time trial in France in September in good form.

In the Ludlow CC ten mile time trial in Leominster Bartam was Wyre Forest's fastest rider - completing the course in 23.21mins.

He was followed by Karl Davies in 23.58mins, Richard Pederson (24.05mins) and Mick Gray (28.07mins).

Dave Wood came 16th in round four of the Rudy Project National time trial series in Astley, finishing the 14 mile circuit in a time of 34.39mins.

Bartram (34.36mins) was 13th overall in the event, while Barnes (one hour 08.51mins) came 17th in the two lap senior race.

John Parker won Wyre Forest's latest two rounds of the time trial competition, finishing the ten mile Warndon course in 23.20mins.

He was followed by Doms (23.56mins), Bartam (25.01mins), Joe Rowe (25.15mins), Karl Davies (25.24mins) and James Smith (26.08mins).

Parker also won the trial on the Astley circuit in 27.36mins followed by Andy Convery (28.10mins) and Wood (28.11mins).
