IT seems unbelievable that two great talents such as David Walliams and Matt Lucas could have created something as unfunny and moronic as Rock Profile.
The men play a series of famous singers and bands ranging from the hugely talented Eurythmics to the two male members of Steps and Gary Barlow from Take That.
Joining them in their tedious sketches is Jamie Theakston as a rock channel interviewer. On this double DVD of episodes, Walliams, Lucas and Theakston are to comedy what Macbeth's three witches were to the world of modelling.
The creators seem to have strange ideas about what actually makes the public laugh. Michael Jackson forgetting he was ever in the Jackson 5 and Annie Lennox being portrayed as some king of Frankenstein's monster just isn't funny. Unless of course you happen to be about ten years old.
Some of the sketches do verge on being humorous, I remember vaguely smiling as Tom Jones and the larger than life Shirley Bassey desperately try to outdo each other.
But funny sketches are sadly a rarity and Rock Profile is actually over four hours of disappointment.
