A KIND-HEARTED Droitwich Spa resident is helping to raise funds for a charity that aids young homeless people.

Michael Norris, from Littleton Court, has produced a show that will be performed at the Alexandra Theatre, in Birmingham, to raise money for St Basils.

Michael, who works as a fundraiser for the Birmingham-based charity, has produced a concert featuring Dominic Kirwan which will be held on Sunday, September 11.

Irish singer and entertainer Kirwan, who has recently returned from a successful five-week tour of Australia, will star in the production.

He will be joined by several other special guests including entertainer Bob Brolly, of BBC Radio WM, and BBC Radio 2's Don Maclean.

All three stars have taken an active interest in St Basils over the past few years, visiting projects and meeting young residents.

After one visit Dominic said: "Being a parent myself and knowing some of the trials and tribulations of family life, it can be all too easy to forget that there are some young people who are not as fortunate as our own."

Michael has been helping St Basils for nine years and often does work to promote the group's activities in Droitwich.

"We at St Basils have to raise £500,000 each year to support our 1,000 residents to give them realistic hopes for their futures," he said.

"I anticipate that Dominic's many fans will pack the theatre to help us raise £10,000 towards our target."

Tickets for the charity show, which are priced at £10, £13.50 and £16.50, are available from the Alexandra Theatre box office or by calling the ticket hotline on 0870 6077533.
