A POPULAR deputy headteacher has retired from a Charford school.

Helen Skipworth worked at Charford First School for 20 years. During that time she set the foundations for learning for hundreds of children in the town.

Helen took on a variety of roles, including promoting a healthy lifestyle for all the youngsters and working with parents and NEW College on family literacy programmes.

Headteacher Jenny Bottrill said: "Helen has played a very important part in the development of Charford First School over the years.

"She will be greatly missed by children, staff, parents and governors."
