THE final match to qualify to fish this weekend's Shakes-peare Championships was staged on Hampton Ferry and Evesham Town Waters.
A very clear Warwickshire Avon attracted 72 competitors who found conditions difficult.
Lee Klimczuk from Peterborough did very well to put 7lbs 5oz on the scales from Ferry peg 52 comprising a mixed bag of gudgeon, roach and small chub caught using a pole/wag-gler/maggot to claim top spot.
Colin Perry, one of the match aces from Mansfield, was runner-up with a catch of eels weighing in at 6lbs 10ozs off Town peg 17.
Ian Didcote (Essex County) was placed third with 6lbs 5ozs off Town peg 5 ahead of Banbury's Steve Hatt (5.9.0) and local angler Brian Bennett (5.8.0).
Dave Kirk from Witney and Coventry's Mark Duffy were the other qualifiers alongside the Banbury man.
August 17 qualifiers: Sean Reidy, Ray Malle, Terry Parrott.
