THE Environment Agency is offering children and adults a chance to have a go at fishing at this weekend's annual Wychavon Festival on the River Avon from Crown and Corporation Meadows.
Taster sessions will be held near Evesham Rowing Club and will be clearing denoted by Environment Agency banners and have a go at fishing directional signs along the river bank.
Coaching sessions will take place between 9am and 4.30pm on all three days and eight Professional Anglers Assoc-iation coaches will be in attendance throughout the festival.
The scheme is provided by the Fisheries and Recreation team of Lower Severn in collaboration with the PFA, Wychavon Council and the Shakespeare Tackle Company.
Recreation officer Pat Hayes said: "No appointment is required, just turn up. Although primarily for kids of any age, we will turn no one away. A responsible adult should accompany children under ten years."
Sessions are absolutely free and only enthusiasm is needed.
