I HAVE read with interest over the past few weeks the letters concerning the 'Leavers Ball' at Aston Fields Middle School which we, the PTA, put on for the year eight children leaving the school to go on to high school.

I have been a member of the PTA committee since my son joined the school three years ago, and have to say from the PTA's point of view this is one of the most memorable events which we organise (not as a fund-raiser I may add), but purely for the pleasure of the children.

I think all committee members, helpers, staff, photographer, DJ, and all involved would agree that this particular event is enjoyed not only by the children but the parents, as they have obviously paid a great part in the preparations leading up to the evening.

The PTA does go to a lot of trouble to organise, shop, decorate and cook for the event, and I think I can say, as far as this year's event was concerned, it was one of the most memorable.

The children were all well presented, (no doubt it was great topic to discuss in the weeks leading up to the event).

Hopefully they will have some treasured memories, and photographs of their last event at Aston Fields Middle School.

Long may it continue...
