I WONDER if the villagers of Stoke Prior are aware that yet again it is subject to the whims of big business.
Plans submitted by Allibert Buckhorn to change the use from storage and warehouse to a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week plastic moulding plant will increase traffic with 16 tonne lorries continuously delivering through the country lanes and impact on the enviroment with smells from plastic processing and noise from heavy plant presses day and night.
It shows total disregard for village life, treating the whole community with contempt.
I wonder if the new families of Jubilee Gardens with their delightful play ground and play area for their young children are aware that they are now literally facing the proposed entrance of an enviromental nightmare.
How can Bromsgrove District Council even consider selling out a rural community with the knock - on effect to Wychbold and Hanbury?
Even the chestnut - that 'increase in employment availability' does not stand as it proposes to bus its current workforce of 170 from its closing plant in Gloucester.
If we do not fight this now we can say goodbye to every reason that we chose to live in Stoke Prior. An action group to protest has been formed. We will need support and objections sent to Bromsgove District Council as soon as possible.
