I've read just read a piece on the Artrix,
A venue for culture, to share,
Snag is, it's not well frequented,
'Cos nobody knows that it's there!
So a re-launch is on the agenda,
A promotion to show off their wares,
And a following page with an advert.
Promotes the appearance of poet Pam Ayres.
I'm delighted this lady's still active,
Thirty years in the business is long,
So I picked up my phone and the advert,
What a shame that the number was wrong!
In my task I was not to be daunted,
For Pam Ayres is indeed a guru,
So, in order to purchase a ticket
I sought out a fresh avenue.
So, onto the website I hastened,
Perhaps I could book seats on line.
But again in my quest I was thwarted.
'Tho the number they quoted was fine.
I looked up forthcoming attractions,
"Pam Ayres Anniversary Tour",
I scrolled down the page in excitement,
Surely on Pam there was more.
A brief history of radio broadcasts,
A quote from The Guardian no less,
Compared her to William Wordsworth -
Pity someone missed out the "s".
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not bitter,
And I'm sure that the Artrix will stay,
But a lot more attention to detail
Should be bought with this new £90k.
