A BOUNDARY off the last ball sentenced Badsey to defeat last Saturday.
Chainwire found themselves needing ten runs off the final two overs after the villagers had battled back and Hymans scored the crucial runs to bring a thrilling contest to a close.
Badsey elected to bat and Adam Westmacott was an early casualty before Ian Hardwick and Nick Powell added 51 in 14 overs.
Halfway through their innings, the total had reached 72-2 and Hardwick fell six runs later for 33 a total matched by Dave Powell.
Tony Cowley (28) helped Powell add 48 for the fourth wicket but the return of opening bowler Beasley helped restrict Badsey to 180-9 at the end of their 45 overs.
Cowley then struck twice after tea but Badsey were unable to dislodge Toveg whose century lifted Chainwire to the brink of victory until his demise in the penultimate over.
Alarm bells started to ring as Dave Powell's spell of 3-19 lifted Badsey back into the game until Hymans stood firm to thwart them at the death.
