THE Wild West comes to Alcester's Civic Hall on Friday when New Mexican band Bayou Seco celebrates the lively music and dance traditions of America's southern states.
A children's workshop, starting at 2pm and suitable for ages five and over gives youngsters the chance to share stories and songs with a Wild West theme, learn about cowboys and Red Indians, and sing along to songs about rhinos, dinosaurs and the rolling plains.
A spokesperson said: "The band's repertoire features Cajun and Zydeco, Norteno Tex-Mex, Chicken Scratch, New Mexican colonial dance tunes and cowboy songs - spanning the swamps of Louisiana to the deserts of Arizona."
The workshop runs for approximately one-and-a-half hours amd costs £5. It is followed at 8pm with a lively toe-tapping family concert. Tickets cost £10 (£8 concessions).
