IT was a frustrating weekend for Redditch-based outfit Buildbase Knotts Magnum.
Matt Llewellyn was hoping to continue his good form at Silverstone in the latest round of the British Supersport Championships. Instead he needed to use all his skills to avoid a fallen rider at more than 100mph.
Llewellyn was forced on to the grass and, by the time he returned to the circuit, was more than 20 seconds behind the leaders and retired to the pits to check over the Honda CBR600RR.
John Laverty made his debut for the team in the Superstock race and claimed three points with his 13th place. But there was frustration because his preparations were undone due to a crash in practice and a damaged radiator in qualifying.
Laverty started the 18-lap race strongly but, because of his lack of track time, was unable to obtain the optimum set-up and had to settle for 13th.
The riders are back in action at Cadwell Park this weekend.
