IT will be the end of an era this weekend for Mappleborough Green dressage rider Vikki Weaver.

She heads to Lincolnshire for the British u21 championships with her horse My Charming Valentine, knowing it is likely to be her last time competing in that age group - she turns 21 in October.

And she will be heading to the event full of confidence after finishing eighth at Hickstead last weekend. It was only her second international competition and Weaver was up against some of the leading young riders from the Netherlands and Ireland as well as her home country.

Entry fees to these two top events have been sponsored by Steve Walker Transport and Warwickshire College. Weaver is also thankful for the efforts of Wootton Wawen trainer Jenny Key who has spent eight years guiding the young rider.

Earlier in the summer, Weaver took first prize in the Prix St Georges, at Solihull Riding Club, and also the Bovey Castle FEI Young Rider Team test.

Now she hopes to continue this good form in Lincolnshire this weekend.
