A TALENTED Dodderhill School pupil is drumming up support for her passion.

Ten-year-old Miriam Downer has scooped top acolades for her musical abilities in piano and drumming.

She has recently passed with merit a drumming exam at the Rock School academy in Birmingham where she had been having drumming lessons since November last year.

Recently she also rubbed shoulders with top rock drummers at Drumfest held in Birmingham.

These included Adrian Erlandsson from Cradle of Filth and Kenny Aronoff who has played with Alice Cooper, Elton John and Jon Bon Jovi. All the legends were on hand to give budding players tips during drumming clinics.

Miriam's proud dad, Tony, said: "For a ten-year-old she has a great ability. She has passion and determination and is really focused on her drumming."
