A BLOSSOMING Worc-ester music club is bracing itself for a feast of all things musical as it launches its new programme.
The group celebrates its 60th anniversary next year and organises six classical concerts annually at the city's Huntingdon Hall.
This year members have more to look forward to than usual with a performance from guitarist John Williams.
The internationally-renowned musician is set to play to a packed house on Sunday, November 13 at 3pm.
Meanwhile the six classical chamber music concerts begin on Sunday, September 25, with Zephyr Winds joined by pianist Ian Buckle playing Mozart, Mendel-ssohn, Danzi Francais and Thuille.
On Sunday, November 6, Malvern pianist Eleanor Percy and violinist Irina Lyakhovskaya also include Mozart in their programme together with Brahms, Beethoven and Poulenc.
And other events include a double treat on Sunday, December 4, with the first in a series of 'Connections' concerts on Sunday, December 4, at 1pm, before the main concert at 3pm.
'Connections' is a series of three concerts by artists who demonstrate the connection between their music and the traditional classical genre.
The first of these features American pianist Howard Lee Sloan, playing music by Fats Waller, Willie Smith and friends, followed by a baroque concert by Florilegium.
Club secretary Gill Miller said: "I'm very excited about the programme and think it's one of the best we have done.
"Of course it's a real coup in itself getting John Williams, let alone the other events."
