MEMBERS of Pershore Royal British Legion will be holding celebrations to commemorate the 60th anniversary of VE and VJ day.
The Legion is holding its celebrations a week after other groups because members have spent most of the year helping other Legions organise their events.
A service will be held in Pershore Abbey at 2.30pm on Sunday, August 28 to commemorate the ending of the Second World War.
The mayor of Pershore, Chris Parsons, along with the members of the Women's Section, the Burma Star Association and the Royal Naval Association will be attending the service.
Chairman of the Pershore branch of the Legion, Ken Jefferies said: "This year is going to a very special year for everyone attending because it's the 60th anniversary. It's important for us all to celebrate the end of a terrible war and enjoy the service now those days are over."
