I HAVE followed, with great personal interest, your recent correspondence regarding the steamers that used to ply the River Severn, These vessels hold a special place in my memory, because my mother owned three of them at one time, including one which was named after me, the Duchess Doreen.
My thanks to those who wrote so warmly about these craft and special thanks for reviving happy memories.
