ENGLAND'S women cricketers held their nerve to secure a six-wicket win against Australia at New Road, Worcester, and reclaim the Ashes for the first time in 42 years.

Clare Connor's victorious side lost four wickets in their pursuit of the 75-run target, but Arran Brindle and Lydia Greenway held on for England's first Test win over Australia since 1984.

Australia were bowl-ed out in their second innings for 232. Liddell then dismissed Laura Newton and Jenny Gunn to reduce the hosts to one for two, with Australian eyeing an unlikely victory.

Cathryn Fitzpatrick also added two wickets, but Brindle and Greenway dug in for the famous victory.
