JOBCENTRE Plus, in partnership with Ambition: Energy, is offering budding water maintenance workers the chance to undertake a course leading to a recognised qualification and job offer.
Unemployed and disadvantaged residents from Redditch can enrol on the 14-week course being run at Cannock Chase Training Centre in Staffordshire.
The training consists of technical instruction and placements. Trainees will be inspecting, repairing and maintaining clean water network systems using specialist equipment and vehicles to excavate, backfill and reinstate trenches.
To be eligible, jobseekers must be on one of the New Deal programmes, or have been claiming Jobseekers Allowance or other related benefits for at least 52 weeks.
All applicants need to undertake an assessment and have an interview. An assessment day will be held on Wednesday, September 7.
