A MEMBER of Bromsgrove Golf Club finished third in the Weetabix Age Group Championships.

Emily Priest proved she is one of the country's hottest young prospects by coming third at the Marriott Forest of Arden Golf and Country Club on August 17.

Priest, who has a handicap of five, hit rounds of 81 and 77 to finish in third in the under-15s age section.

Mike Round, chief executive of the Golf Foundation, said: "The Weetabix Age Group Championship has a wonderful pedigree in British golf and for the last two decades has given junior golfers a great start in regional and national competitive golf.

"It will have been a great experience for every player taking part and there is also every chance that some of the very best European players of the future were teeing it up at the Forest of Arden."

To qualify Priest had to battle her way through the regional stages, which had 5,500 under-16s competing nationwide.
