THE annual end of season Pairs Tournament for the South Warwickshire Area Prudden Road Surfacing Summer League takes place at Stratford on Sunday.

An action-packed climax to the season also sees the final of the Junior Cup competition and the league's presentation evening.

The event is being sponsored by Tony King of Alcester with balls supplied by Paul Bruner of Shopfittings and Equipment, Bidford.

The tournament, which involves a compulsory entry of one pair from each of the league's 36 teams, consists of three competitions.

The top 12 teams in the league play for the Floodlit Shield, the middle 12 play in the Plate competition, while the bottom 12 teams contest the Cup tournament.

The format involves matches of seven games duration beginning with a first round of pool games before the top two teams in each pool contest the finals.

Matches begin at 10.30am with the finals of all competitions taking place at 6pm..

A free barbecue is available to all competitors and spectators are welcome to support the event.

In addition to the trophy presentation, cheques to the value of £50 will be presented to be used for junior development by the teams finishing top of each of the five divisions - Stratford B, FISSC A, Evesham, More-ton-in-the-Marsh and Snitter-field. The cheques are being donated by Asphalt Express, Redditch.
