FAIRFIELD Villa continued their unbeaten start to the Midland Combination Division Two over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Villa edged out Newhall United 1-0 on Saturday, before battling out a 0-0 draw away at Northfield Town.

The four points for Villa keeps them riding high in the top two.

On Saturday Martin Townsend gave Villa a deserved lead when he finished off a incisive attacking move.

However, Villa met their match against Northfield.

Fairfield's management duo of Paul Oakes and Lee Shaw would have been eager to see their side, made up of lot of players from Northfield, overcome the pair's former club.

However, in a game of few chances both sides cancelled each other out.

Shaw said: "It was a tough game, but it was entertaining despite their being no goals.

Villa will have four more players available for Saturday's home game against Polesworth North Warwick (12pm kick off).

Richard Coulson, Nathan Turner and Atli Coakley are all set to be back for the clash.

However, Carl Dainter and Peter Rose are injury doubts the match at Fairfield Recreation Ground.

Shaw said: "Polesworth will be a great test for us."
