COOKHILL missed out on claiming the Division Six title when they were thrashed for the second week in a row, losing by 131 runs at home to nearest rivals Blockley.

The visitors were restricted to 186-7, Simon Edmunds the pick of the Cookhill bowlers with his 3-26.

In reply, all the Cookhill batsmen gave their wickets away cheaply as they collapsed to 55 all out.

The result leaves the Ridgeway side two points clear at the top going into the last game of the season at Claverdon, where a win would guarantee their title.

Exhall & Wixford continued their championship-winning season with a three-wicket victory over second-placed Overbury. The home side posted a total of 190-9 but Exhall were up to the task.

At the other end of the table, Alcester & Ragley just missed out on a second win of the season, losing to Broadway by three wickets despite putting 216 on the board.

Bidford fell into the Division One drop zone following their 54-run defeat at the hands of fellow strugglers Warwickshire CC Staff .

Batting first, the visitors reached 224-6 but Bidford fell well short and were all back in the pavilion with just 170 on the board.

Bidford head to rock bottom Stratford next week.

Great Alne suffered a four-wicket defeat at home to Leamington III in Division Four while Temple Grafton made sure of the Division Four title with an eight-wicket victory over Kenilworth Wardens III.
