A SEVEN-year-old girl is distraught after the disappearance of a pet parrot which calls her name.
The owners of Hopo, an African Grey, are frantic with worry because he will only last two or three days in the wild.
Owner Terry Jones said he believed the parrot, valued at about £1,500, had been stolen.
"We're really worried about him and I just hope whoever has him, or sees him will come forward," he said. "We feed him special parrot food so in the wild he'll just get weaker and weaker. My little sister Kathleen has grown so fond of him and he always calls her name."
Hopo disappeared from his cage at the Watery Lane caravan park in Stourport at 2.30pm on Tuesday.
Mr Jones had taken the cage outside and left him for about 20 minutes while he popped to the shops. When he returned the door was ajar and Hopo had gone.
Mr Jones said he believed the grey parrot with a red tail could not have escaped and was stolen.
