BARNARDS Green won the top-of-the-table WCL division two clash on Saturday at North End Lane.
Green asked visiting Bromyard to bat first and, after removing Ash Bullock for seven, saw the score race along to 57-1 off just ten overs. The introduction of the spinners slowed down the rate and after 25 overs, Bromyard were 92-2.
Off-spinner Paul Drinkwater then wreaked havoc and three wickets fell quickly to put Bromyard in trouble at 94-5. Bromyard captain Ed Oliver was still there and some big hitting, especially in the latter stages, saw him finish on 89no as Bromyard posted 203-9 off their 50 overs.
After one or two scares, Barnards Green reached the winning total with nearly two overs to spare. Dan Flynn top scored with a fine 71no, with contributions from Richard Williams (36) and Chris Smedley (27).
