STUNT aircraft, belly dancing, a brass band and a Crufts champion, plus the largest horticultural show for miles around - it's all happening at Alfrick and Lulsley Show and Fete on Saturday.
First held in 1951, the village event has grown into one of the most popular of its kind in Worcestershire and last year attracted more than 2,500 visitors. "Fingers crossed, we're hoping to get around the 3,000 mark this time," said David Hughes, one of the organisers.
A vast array of attractions has been lined up, including an aerobatic display by pilot Nigel Willson and his Yak 52 stunt plane.
There will also be a display of belly dancing and a demonstration by Crufts 2005 champion Tina Humphrey and her dogs.
They will be performing a demonstration of heel work to music from Malvern Hills District Brass Band, which will be playing on Alfrick recreation ground.
"We are particularly focusing on family groups and children," Mr Hughes added, "and there will be animals for them to see, a bouncy castle, fairground attractions and sideshows."
For dad there will be classic cars to admire and a display of the martial art Tae Kwon Do. A bar and barbecue will also be laid on. As the harvest season approaches, the horticultural show will be packed with beautiful flowers and succulent vegetables plus a dog show that always attracts plenty of entries.
The event opens at 1.30pm and admission is £2 for adults and 50p for children aged from five to 16.
