Continental Star 0 Droitwich Spa 0
DROITWICH Spa grabbed their first points of the season in the Midland Combination Division Two on Saturday.
Manager Tom Goss was pleased that his side had continued to improve, after a poor start to the season.
He said: "We were the better side in the first half and if we had taken our chances we'd have been 2-0 up.
"But we were a lot better than in our other games.
"What pleased me is that we created a lot of chances and worried the opposition."
Spa went into the match on the back of three defeats, but took the game to Star.
Strikers Matt Jenkins and Stuart James both had chances, but found Continental's goalkeeper equal to their attempts.
Goalkeeper Nick West though ensured it was honours even in the second half, when he made an excellent save from a free kick.
Goss said: "We played pretty well and Nick (West) made a good save to make sure we got a point - which is the least we deserved."
Spa have a free week before playing Earlswood away on Saturday, September 17.
Matt Morton and Ian Cottrill are both expected to be back for the match.
