STRATFORD Racecourse is staging BBC Coventry & War-wickshire Radio Day on Sunday when there will be six top-class National Hunt races starting at 2.20pm.

Action includes the BBC Coventry & Warwickshire Open Centre Handicap Steeple Chase with £12,000 prize money on offer over two miles and 1 furlongs for the J H Rowe Chall-enge Trophy.

There's also £8,000 up for grabs in the 103.7FM Handicap Hur-dle raced over two miles and 6 furlongs.

And, don't rush off after racing, because there are two Pony Races, one over 5 furlongs for ponies 13.2HH and under and one over seven furlongs for ponies 14.2HH and under, with 12 runners per race we are in for two exciting races.

The 2005 Charles Owen Pony Racing Series is supported by the racing industry and The Pony Club, in a nationwide initiative aimed at promoting and encouraging both girls and boys aged 11-15 to become jump jockeys.

This autumn's series, the second consecutive of its kind, has been running at a number of racecourses and started in July at Perth and the winner from each race qualifies for the final at Aintree on Saturday, October 22.

Bring a picnic into the Centre Course area where there is plenty of free entertainment for the children including bucking bronco, face painter plus lots more and live music from the Butchers Jazz Band in the Club and Tattersall enclosures.

Gates open at 12 noon and admission prices start from £6. Accompanied children under 16 are admitted free.
