WORCESTERSHIRE stormed back in the Frizzell Championship Division Two game with Yorkshire today as seam bowling duo Kabir Ali and Nadeem Malik combined to snare five victims.

Although Anthony McGrath continued his good form to reach three figures, wickets fell around him as Yorkshire slumped to 206-7 after 44 overs at Headingley.

Kabir was on hand to dismiss overnight batsman Simon Guy (7), before sending back Michael Lumb (3) and Tim Bresnan (6).

Meanwhile, Malik took the prize wicket of Australian Ian Harvey (11) and England's former Test all-rounder Craig White (5).

Yesterday, Worcestershire got off to a whirlwind start. Chris Gayle, partnered by Stephen Moore, found the boundary with his first seven scoring shots.

Twice he struck the South African Deon Kruis for three fours in an over but Kruis gained his revenge after Gayle had made 29 off 17 balls when the left-hander sliced him to Joe Sayers at third man.

Runs continued to come quickly but Worcestershire suddenly found themselves on 92 for three as captain White picked up two catches at gully off Bresnan.

Graeme Hick was the first to go for 19 and Moore followed soon after for 27.

Ben Smith (27) fell leg before to Harvey but a 75 stand developed between Vikram Solanki and Steven Davies until Bresnan struck again to get rid of wicketkeeper Davies for 44.

Solanki drove Richard Dawson for six to move to 48 before edging the off-spinner to Guy and with wickets continuing to fall, Cleary dismissed Shoaib Akhtar to make it 250 for nine.

Cleary was smacked for two fours and a six in one over by Nadeem as he and Matt Mason brought Worcestershire an unexpected third batting bonus point.

But the spree was ended by Dawson, who held on to a return catch to account for Mason for 38 off 47 balls with seven fours, leaving Nadeem unbeaten on 21.
