ADAM Westmacott reached 1,000 runs for the season in scintillating style last Sun-day when the Badsey batsmen scored an unbeaten 191 in a friendly against Ashton.

The 15-year-old smashed 28 4s and two 6s in an innings that lasted just 136 deliveries and helped Badsey amass a winning 299-4.

Jason Haines also passed three figures in reply, scoring 116 not out in an all-out total of 208. Sam Thomson and Steve Powell both picked up three wickets.

Tony Cowley scored 44 runs last weekend to take his summer aggregate to 1,881, while Nick Powell took his total to 972.

He top scored with 57 in Saturday's County League defeat against Alvechurch and Hopwood, who successfully chased a target of 247.

Ian Hardwick also reached a half-century, but it was Morton's 106 for the visitors that ultimately proved the crucial knock of the day.
